Product reviews from buyers who received the item

Shipped on 5 September 2026

Reviews help buyers decide, but only if they can trust them. In RedCart a product review is tied to an order the buyer actually received.

What you get

  • Each review is linked to a received order line.
  • An optional prompt after delivery that invites the buyer to review.
  • Reviews shown on the product page.
  • Buyers see their own reviews in their account.

How it works

When an order is marked received, each line in it becomes eligible for a review. The buyer writes about the product they got, and the review is stored together with that order line. A review cannot be left for a product the buyer did not receive.

If you switch on the prompt, buyers are invited to leave a review after delivery, when the product is in their hands and the experience is fresh.

Published reviews appear on the product page for other shoppers to read. Later the same day, at 22:22, we added a section to the buyer's account where they can see the reviews they have written.

Why this matters for your store

A review from someone who received the product carries more weight than an anonymous comment. Tying reviews to order lines keeps the feedback grounded in real purchases, and the prompt after delivery makes it easy for buyers to leave one.

Product reviews are separate from store reviews, which cover the shop as a whole and live on their own page.

What we verified

We checked the product reviews migration, the rule that links a review to a received order line, the product page template, and the account page that lists a buyer's own reviews.
