Returns that start after delivery
Shipped on 5 September 2026
Returns are part of selling. RedCart gives them a clear path, from the buyer's request to the goods going back on the shelf.
What you get
- Buyers can request a return only after the order is marked received.
- Staff review the request and accept it in the cabinet.
- Accepted items are restocked into the warehouse you choose.
- A setting to switch storefront returns off.
How it works
The return option appears for a buyer once the order has the status received. That keeps requests tied to goods the buyer actually has, instead of orders still on the way.
The request reaches your team in the cabinet. When staff accept it, they choose which warehouse the items go back into. If you work with several warehouses, the goods return to the right shelf, and the change is recorded in the stock movement log like any other restock.
Some stores prefer to handle returns by phone or in person. For them, storefront returns can be switched off, and the request option disappears from the storefront.
Why this matters for your store
A clear rule for when a return can start avoids confusion on both sides. Restocking in the same step keeps your stock numbers right: the item is available to sell again as soon as it is back, with no separate adjustment to remember.
The on/off setting lets you decide how returns fit your business instead of the software deciding for you.
What we verified
We checked the returns migrations, the storefront and cabinet return endpoints, the received-status rule, the restock into a chosen warehouse, and the returns screen in the cabinet.
