Products and categories go live from the cabinet

The catalog is the core of any store. In RedCart you build it in the cabinet, and what you publish there becomes pages on your storefront.

What you get

  • Create and edit products, each with its own SKUs.
  • Keep a product as a draft while you prepare it, then publish it when it is ready. Products can also be archived.
  • Build a category tree: create categories, edit them, and delete the ones you no longer need.
  • Published products and categories appear on the storefront as their own pages.

How it works

You work in the cabinet, the admin area of your store. A new product starts as a draft, so buyers do not see half-finished descriptions or missing photos. While it is a draft you can fill in the details, add SKUs and place it in a category.

When you switch the product to published, the storefront picks it up and renders its product page. Categories work the same way: a category you create appears on the storefront as a category page that lists its products.

SKUs sit under the product, so one product page can offer several sellable items. Later updates added size and colour combinations, typed characteristics and product families on top of this structure.

Why this matters for your store

The draft and published states let you prepare products in advance and choose the moment they go live. The category tree gives buyers a way to browse when they do not know exactly what they want, and it gives your store a clear structure.

What we verified

We checked the product, SKU and category tables, the cabinet endpoints for products and categories, and the change that made published products appear on the storefront.

We are inviting the first merchants to try the catalog with their real assortment. If you want to be one of them, request early access and tell us what you sell.
