Opening hours, order pause and store status
Shipped on 5 September 2026
Not every store takes orders around the clock. A bakery closes at night, a small team takes a holiday, a shop moves to a new warehouse. RedCart lets you decide when your store accepts orders.
What you get
- Weekly opening hours, set in your shop's own timezone.
- "Pause orders until": stop new orders until a time you choose.
- Checkout refuses orders while the store is closed or paused.
- A store status: live, behind a password gate, or in maintenance.
How it works
In the cabinet you set the hours for each day of the week and the timezone of your shop. The hours follow your local time, wherever your buyers happen to be.
For a break outside the usual schedule, set "pause orders until" to a date and time. Until then, checkout does not accept new orders. The same check applies outside opening hours, so an order cannot slip in while the store is closed.
The store status covers bigger moments. Live is the normal state. A password gate lets you show the store only to people you give the password to, for example before an opening. Maintenance shows buyers a maintenance page while you make changes.
Why this matters for your store
Orders you cannot fulfil cost more than missed ones: apologies, cancellations, unhappy buyers. Hours and a pause keep orders coming in only when you can handle them, and the status options let you prepare or fix things without an audience.
What we verified
We checked the shop hours migration, the hours logic and its tests, the checkout rule that refuses orders while closed or paused, and the gate and maintenance pages of the storefront.
If your store keeps real-world hours, let us know through early access and set your schedule on RedCart.
