Buyer accounts with orders and saved addresses

Shipped on 5 September 2026

Returning buyers should not have to type the same address every time or dig through their inbox to find an old order. RedCart storefronts give them their own account.

What you get

  • Registration and sign-in on your storefront.
  • Order history, with a page for each order.
  • Saved addresses, with one marked as the default.
  • The default address prefilled at checkout.
  • Passwords stored with bcrypt and session tokens stored hashed.

How it works

A buyer registers on your storefront with their details and a password, then signs in whenever they come back. In the account they see the list of their orders and can open any order to view its details.

The account also keeps their addresses. A buyer can save several, for example home and work, and mark one as the default. When they check out, the default address is filled in for them, and they can still pick another one.

On the security side, passwords are never stored as plain text: they are hashed with bcrypt. Session tokens are stored hashed too, so a copy of the database does not hand out working sessions.

Why this matters for your store

Accounts make repeat purchases quicker, and repeat buyers are the core of most stores. They also connect other features: signed-in buyers see their shipment timelines and their own reviews in one place, and personal discounts apply to them.

What we verified

We checked the customer, sign-in and address migrations, the storefront account endpoints, password hashing with bcrypt and hashed session tokens, and the account pages of the default theme.

If your buyers come back again and again, give them an account in your store: reserve a place in early access.
